KEYMAN is a keyboard manager that uses data files (*.KMN) to facilitate text entry.
The data file for the SIL IPA fonts is IPA.KMN.

To install KEYMAN from a floppy disk, use the RUN command in the Windows FILE menu.
Click on the BROWSE button to change to the drive where the floppy is located (a: or b:).
Select SETUP.EXE and click on OK. Then click on OK in the RUN window. Then follow the
directions on the screen.

To install KEYMAN from the download file found at "http://www.sil.org" in "SIL Software",
place the download file, KEYMAN.EXE, in your TEMP subdirectory. Extract the application and
documentation files by double clicking on the file name in File Manager. Choose the Run
command from the Program Manager File menu. Click on the Browse button. Change to your
TEMP subdirectory. Select SETUP.EXE and click on OK. Click on OK in the Run window.
Follow the directions on the screen.

During the installation you will be asked which keyboard manager (if any) you want to use
when you start KEYMAN. You can select the SIL IPA Keyboard.

Start KEYMAN by double clicking on its icon. If the IPA.KMN file is not loaded then
click on OPTIONS on the KEYBOARD MANAGER. Click on LOAD and select IPA.KMN.
In your word processor select the SIL IPA font (SILDoulosIPA, SILManuscriptIPA,
or SILSophiaIPA) that you want to use. To turn on the IPA keyboard click on the small
keyboard button in the upper left corner of your word processor. Click on it again to
deactivate the keyboard. You can view and print the IPA characters (if they have been
installed) using the IPACHARS.WRI file.
