Your assistance was very helpful, and our presentation was received quite well. Many of the approximately 70 professionals attending the symposium reported that the use of lojban enhanced their understanding and enjoyment of our presentation. I also wish to reciprocate by providing you with a copy of the agenda, and our paper which will be published as part of the record of the proceedings, to help in enhancing Lojban's credibility for serious applications. Attached, you will find two documents: a description and agenda for the National Symposium on Literacy for Adults with Visual Disabilities, which is titled: National Symposium Agenda 2002.DOC, and a paper describing and summarizing the presentation that we gave at the National Symposium on Literacy for Adults with Visual Disabilities, National Symposium on Adult Literacy, September 20, 2002, titled: paper to be included in the proceedings, submitted version.doc. In our presentation at the Symposium, and in the paper which will be published as part of the proceedings documents, we utilized lojban to demonstrate the experience of learning a new language, and how this learning can be promoted by utilizing all senses. You can also find reference to the National Symposium on Literacy for Adults with Visual Disabilities on the web site of the American Foundation For The Blind at: http://www.afb.org/info_document_view.asp?documentid=1828 Thank you again for your assistance, Sincerely, Robby Barnes KAIZEN PROGRAM for New English Learners with Visual Limitations 810-A Hiawatha Place South Seattle, WA 98144 phone: (206) 784-5619 e-mail: kaizen_esl@literacynet.org Original message: From: "Logical Language Group, Inc." lojban@lojban.org To: "Kaizen ESL Program" Subject: Re: Request for help Date: Saturday, September 07, 2002 6:36 PM At 10:42 PM 9/5/02 -0700, you wrote: >I would be grateful if you could help me to understand and translate the >simple motions of moving one's hand forward and moving it back. I will be replying in a couple of days, in case you are worried. I decided to let some others make suggestions specific to the context that you are using the words/phrases in, which might affect the word choice, since you seem concerned about accuracy. I may lead the project, but I no longer can claim to be the most skilled speaker. I will be very interested to hear more about the presentation and how it is received. While it sounds like a live demonstration rather than a paper, if the use of Lojban will appear in the proceedings of the conference, I would like to get a copy of those proceedings, such things being helpful in enhancing Lojban's credibility for serious applications.
